Body Talking
Skills for building empathy, understanding, and positive conflict

Researchers say roughly 75 % of what we communicate is done with body languageIn this workshop, partners can learn to:

·        Express feelings and needs, and make requests

·        Track body language in others

·        Improve their own use of body language in listening and speaking

·        Recognize “dysregulation” and pause communication sessions

·        Study their own unique tendencies of expression in a safe environment

·        Increase awareness of what is conveyed  through body language

Call for next meeting date and other information.

WHAT CAN I DO?
A short workshop for partners offering basic skills for recognizing states of emotional flooding and trauma activation, and for staying grounded and safe while offering support. $50 per person. Call for next meeting date.
SOOTHED SELF, SOOTHED BABY
An 8-week long co-regulation group for mamas, papas, and babies. In this group, clients meet together with their babies and work experientially with regulating emotions and states of being in order to connect with their babies and assist the babies in regulating themselves. This will increase secure attachment and bonding. The group is an hour and a half long. Call for dates, times, and location. Sliding scale $30-60.

A MAMA WAS BORN
An monthly circle for mothers to explore the experience of having given birth. Birthing will be honored as a rite of passage, and participants will have a safe space in which to celebrate, honor, grieve, rant about, let go of, and share the complexity of birthing. We may use mindfulness, movement, creative expression, and peer support, to the degree participants feel comfortable. No movement or creative expression will be forced upon those uncomfortable with it. Process, rather than performance/product, will be the focus.
*
Due to the nature of the group, intensity of expression will be gently monitored to provide a comfortable space for babies to attend with mothers. I understand that many mothers in the early months may not have (or want) childcare. If you bring your baby --pre-crawling only--please bring a carrier that is comfortable to move in while wearing your little one. Mothers at any stage in parenting may attend. The group is an hour and a half long. Call for days, times, and location, and to reserve a space. First time costs $10 and subsequent attendance costs $25. This is to make the group accessible to as many mothers as possible.
